Dog Owners Take More Photos Of Their Pet Than Their Spouse, Says New Study
Dogs are kind of the best. When I come home from a long day, my dog is always happy to see me, no matter what kind of day she had. Heck, if I leave her alone for five minutes and come back, she’s happy to see me. She’s the cutest, and the snuggliest, and the sweetest. But did you know dog owners take more photos of their pet than their spouse?
Dogs love us unconditionally, provide hours upon hours of snuggles, entertainment, and giggles, and listen without judgement (and comprehension, but that’s a minor detail).
So it may not come as a surprise that dog owners take more photos of their pets than their spouse, according to a new study.
I mean, I’m not surprised. But I also think my husband would become irritable and more than a little confused if I snapped several photos of him every day while he was sleeping or lying on the couch.
In the study, about 65% of dog owners admitted that they took more photos of their furbaby than their spouse.
The study also dug up some other interesting nuggets of data that prove our four legged friends are important members of the family.
About 78% of “dog people” said that they would include their pooch in important family moments. This includes prime photo-taking opportunities like family vacations or the yearly holiday card, and even events as special as marriage proposals.
For couples who think absence makes the heart grow fonder, it looks like your spouse could miss Fido more than you if they’re gone for a week. Apparently, 47% of dog owners think it would be more difficult to leave their pet for a week than their spouse (ouch).
For the single people out there, it looks like 1 in 4 of you have taken a pet with you on a date.
What do you think of the study?
Does it ring true for you and your spouse?
